Prof. Lisa Collins, Chair in Animal Science, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Leeds, UK.
MA(Oxon) Biological Sciences, DPhil Zoology
Lisa’s research is on the development and application of novel mathematical, systems modelling and statistical methods for the study of animal health and welfare, using large-scale epidemiological experiments, data synthesis from existing literature and public data sources. Lisa uses multi-scalar approaches to understand a problem from both top-down and bottom-up perspectives; through her individual-based research, she has developed a novel line of enquiry into factors that lead to important and significant differences between individuals which result in differential risk of exposure to, or subsequent development of, a health problem. She is Academic Director of the Smart Agri-Systems initiative at the University of Leeds.
